HOW TO ACHIEVE REAL CAMPAIGN REFORM
Have a Goverment That Can't Sell "Public Interest" Favors
by Edwin A. Locke
Senior Writer, Ayn Rand Institute
FULTON'S COMMENTARY ON THIS ARTICLE: |
Campaign finance reform, one which is consistent with freedom and individual rights, would consist of the government reversing its current direction and getting out of the regulation of how you spend your money. Real reform would be the consistent application of the fundamental principle of a free society: your life, your money and your property is yours. The application of this principle would eliminate the forcible redistribution of wealth we have, today, in statist America.
As Edwin Locke's excellent essay demonstrates, removing from government the power to forcibly take your money is the key to campaign reform.
