YOU CAN'T BLAME IT ALL ON GUNS

by Mark Steyn

FULTON'S COMMENTARY ON THIS ARTICLE:

A reader contacted me last week to inform me that I was wrong about guns and their role in crime.  He cited England as his proof.   Well, he forgot to check his facts.  With a virtual ban on guns in England, the crime rate is two to three times the rate in America.

Mark Steyn, a writer for the London Telegraph, makes a compelling argument that England's crime problem is the result of the failed policies of the last 30 years.  He is correct, but fails to make the connection between statism's ideas as the real cause of crime.

SPECIAL NOTICE: As of Tuesday, May 4, 1999, the link to the London Telegraph was not working properly.  In fact, very little on the site appeared to be functioning.  So, if you try the link, it may not be available.
